SEARCH TIPS
The Aries Site Search Facility
The Aries site search facility searches the Aries website and returns details of all pages which contain the search terms. The results are sorted in order of relevance and displayed in blocks of 10 showing text extracts from each page with the search terms highlighted in bold. The page title provides a link to the page which contains the search terms; within these pages the search terms are highlighted in red for easy identification.
Common Words
Some very common words, such as 'and' and 'the' will be ignored in the search. These words will be retained in an exact phrase search, e.g. 'pensions and divorce'. The results page will indicate if any words have been ignored during the search by displaying the details at the top of the page.
Intelligent Matching
Intelligent matching allows many of the common abbreviations used within the Pensions Industry to be matched with their full title counterparts. e.g. searching for 'nae' will also find 'national average earnings'.
Exact Phrase Searching
For an 'exact phrase' match you should enter the required phrase in the 'exact phrase box' in the advanced search form. You may also search for an 'exact phrase' in the 'single search box' on the home page by placing quotation marks around the required phrase, e.g. "minimum funding requirement".
Searching for 'All Words'
To find results where 'all' the search terms are required you should enter your required words into the 'all words box' in the advanced search form. You may also enter your required words into the 'single search box' on the home page. The default mechanism for the single search box is to search for all words. You do not need to enter AND or separate your terms with commas.
Searching for 'Any Word'
To search for 'any' search term you should enter your optional words into the 'any words box' in the advanced search form. In the 'single search box' on the home page you may search for any of your search terms by using the logical "OR" operator, e.g. 'legislation OR law'.
'NOT'
The "NOT" operator is not supported and will be ignored. The use of plus (+) and minus (-) signs is also not supported.
